Schools closed in Cumberland, Royston, and Miracle Beach

COURTENAY, B.C- Multiple schools in the Comox Valley are closed today.

According to School District 71, schools in Cumberland, Royston, and Miracle Beach are not open today. Buses for those areas are not running.

Schools on Denman and Hornby Island are also closed, due to a lack of power.

All other schools in the district are open.

French-language schools in the area are open, with buses running, but those may be late due to the road conditions.

Down in Fanny Bay, Beachcombers School will be closed due to the roads.

North Island College is also open today.
