The Comox Valley Community Foundation has held their annual Community Enrichment Awards at the Comox Recreation Centre.
A total of twenty local charities were awarded in excess of $118,000 to help them achieve their goals. Comox Mayor Paul Ives attended the event, and says the funds leverage various local efforts…
Ives says the funds go a long way towards supporting a number of community initiatives.
Those organizations fall within one of five areas of interest supported by the Comox Valley Community Foundation and include Arts and Culture, Environment and Parks, Health and Welfare, Education and Youth, and Seniors. The Foundation has awarded over $1.5 million since 1996.
