COMOX VALLEY, B.C- Heavy weather is still rolling through the Comox Valley.
An updated snowfall warning from Environment Canada reads that snowfall between five to ten centimetres is expected over eastern Vancouver Island today, due to a low-pressure centre over the region.
To the north and south ends of the Valley, Highway 19 appears to be heavily impacted by the snowy conditions. Both the Black Creek and Buckley Bay sections of the route are covered in snow.
The weather improves to the north, with roads north of Sayward in fine condition, according to 1240 AM’s Sandra Boyd.
The heaviest snow for East Vancouver Island is expected on the Malahat Highway while the heaviest snow for Inland Vancouver Island is expected in the Lake Cowichan area where 10 to 15 cm of snow will fall through Monday morning,” read the warning.
Drivers should adjust their driving to the changing road conditions, with rapid snowfall making travel difficult. If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead, and be prepared to stop.
