Single-lane alternating traffic starts today on Balmoral as roadwork gets underway

COMOX, B.C. Expect traffic tie-ups on Balmoral Avenue, starting today.

Leighton Contracting is scheduled to begin the installation of underground utilities and constructing road upgrades on Balmoral, between the Comox Golf Club and Comox Center Mall, beginning today (March 14).

While the work is taking place, the northbound lane of Balmoral Ave will be closed, causing single lane alternating traffic.

According to an email from project manager Craig Armstrong, minor delays can be expected.

Armstrong added that access to the local businesses and residences in the area will not be impacted.

The road construction on Balmoral Ave is expected to be finished by late May.
