RCMP raid home along Piercy Avenue: witnesses

COURTENAY, B.C- Residents of central-east Courtenay saw a large amount of police activity this evening.

According to multiple eyewitnesses, multiple police vehicles and officers arrived at a residence across from the municipal works yard along Piercy Avenue, shortly after 6:30 p.m.

The witnesses indicated that the officers were heavily armed, and used a battering ram and flash-bang explosives to enter the home. Multiple people were taken into custody.
