Road work expected to cause minor delays

COURTENAY B.C- City crews will be working on replacing sidewalks and a lane way over the next week.

On Monday, March 25th, the City of Courtenay will be working on the road on Duncan Avenue between 3rd and 4th street.

They will be replacing the concrete lane way and sidewalk and are asking drivers, and pedestrians to expect delays in the area.

The work is projected to take five days, and take place between 8:00 a.m and 2:00 p.m daily, according to the city.

They also say that noise will be generated by the crew and equipment during construction, and travelers can expect slow driving conditions through the area as crews work.

To allow time for the concrete to dry, and so vehicles can still have access, there will be large metal plates over the parts of the concrete for  two weeks after work is complete.
