UPDATE: Hwy 19 to Port McNeill now open

UPDATE: A portion of Highway 19 towards Port McNeill was closed, but DriveBC has said that the road is now open again.

CAMPBELL RIVER, B.C. – Downed hydro lines have closed down Highway 19 to Port McNeill.

According to DriveBC, the road is closed in both directions from Spring Hill Rd to Reload Railway S Overpass.

Drivers are being asked to stay away from the area for safety.

Crews will be working at the scene as soon as possible.
