Short hold and secure lifted at Glacier View Secondary

COURTENAY, B.C- A hold and secure status at a Comox Valley school was lifted shortly after being put in place today.

According to School District 71, the hold and secure was done at Glacier View Secondary in response to a threat via telephone, following advice from the RCMP.

It appears to have been put in place shortly after 11:00 a.m.

After 15 minutes, the hold and secure was lifted. The nature of the threat and it’s source remain under investigation. It was received by the school.

The school is meant for Grade 7 to 12 students going through alternative learning.
