Teachers, supporters march to local MLA's office

Kids were home from school again on Tuesday, as rotating job action continues across the province.

A large crowd of teachers and supporters gathered at the local school board office, before descending on local MLA Don Mcrae’s office at 3:45 pm.

Despite rumors that he might be out of office, Minister Mcrae was there to meet them.

The reception, however, soon turned frosty.

Goat news was there to speak with McRae during the protest.

Protestors marched peacefully, and stayed downtown briefly, causing minor traffic congestion as they walked. After a few minutes, they dispersed.

Local rep’s say if talks between the B.C. Teacher’s Federation and the province continue to go nowhere, rotating strikes could continue into a third week.
