United Way opens small grants for local charities tackling social issues

NORTHERN VANCOUVER ISLAND, BC –  United Way Central and Northern Vancouver Island (UWCNVI) want to help tackle social issues.

  • From Poverty to Possibility
  • All That Kids Can Be
  • Healthy People

UWCNVI is offering community partner grants to charities in the following communities that offer local services:

  • Central Island: agencies can apply for up to $5, 000 per program
  • Cowichan: micro grants of up to $2, 000 are available for each program

Community Development Grants will also be offered in each region for emerging community needs, as well as to encourage agencies to collaborate on issues such as the opioid crisis, affordable housing, homelessness and support for programs in Indigenous communities.
