Annual Stage 1 water restrictions introduced for the Comox Valley

COMOX VALLEY, B.C – The Comox Valley Water System is is now under the annual stage 1 water restrictions.

Under Stage 1 restrictions, lawn and garden sprinkling is permitted between the hours of 5 a.m -8 a.m, and 7 p.m -10 p.m.

The restrictions mean On Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday even number addresses will be allowed to water their lawns and gardens, and on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday odd numbered addresses will be permitted to water their lawns and gardens.

Mike Herschmiller, Manager of Water Services for the CVRD, says the scheduling for Stage 1 restrictions will help prep residents in case stage 2 restrictions need to be put in place.

“The schedule is designed so that the shift to Stage 2 when needed is relatively straightforward for our residents.”
