Extending CV Hospital construction hours a positive idea

It’s the largest construction project that’s ever been done in the city of Courtenay. That’s from Mayor Larry Jangula regarding the Comox Valley Regional Hospital. Council’s looking to extend work hours for groups involved in the construction.

Here’s the mayor with a little bit more on the project.

Jangula thinks extending hours is a good idea, especially when it comes to pouring concrete.

The current noise provision bylaw restricts work hours from 7AM to 10PM Monday through Saturday, and 8AM to 10PM on Sundays and Statutory Holidays.

But the bylaw also includes a provision that allows council to accept applications from groups to extend the work hours. The city is now looking to extend those hours for Cumberland Concrete and Graham Design Builders.
