Mountain bike rider airlifted to hospital after crash

CUMBERLAND, B.C. – A mountain bike rider has been airlifted to a Victoria hospital after being hit by a vehicle.

The crash happened on Bevan Road in Cumberland.

Nine firefighters attended and assisted paramedics with first aid. According to Fire Chief Mike Williamson a gravel truck, a car and the bike may have been involved in the crash.

The RCMP is investigating and has closed the road to traffic. We’ll have more details as they become available.
