Comox man charged after Quinsam Lake gun incident

CAMPBELL RIVER, B.C – The Campbell River RCMP has arrested a man following an incident involving a gun.

Last Friday near Quinsam Lake RCMP received a call of a male pointing a firearm at other people.

After receiving a different report of a man who had been pointing a gun at other groups of people in the same area, members of the Campbell River RCMP responded quickly in hopes of locating the alleged suspect.

Regular officers and a K9 unit found the suspect leaving the area in a truck. They arrested him without incident.

Police say they found guns in the vehicle and one of them was still loaded.

A 43-year-old man from the Comox area has been charged with multiple offences including assault with a weapon and pointing a firearm.
