Comox Valley Community Foundation will distribute $500,000 in 2020

COMOX VALLEY, B.C – The Comox Valley Community Foundation has approved $500,000 in grants and scholarships for 2020.

These funds will be available to students to pursue post-secondary studies and to local charitable organizations to undertake projects and activities.

President of the Comox Valley Community Foundation Matt Beckett, says investing in the community is an important thing for the foundation.

“We have been entrusted by individuals and organizations to strengthen the vitality of the Comox Valley and we do so by investing in needed and innovative community-based projects.”

“The $500,000 represents an increase of $25,000 over funds allocated in 2019, which will allow us to do even more.”

The funds will be distributed in four ways: Community Enrichment grants, long-term operational funding for a number of local organizations, scholarships awarded to local residents who are pursuing studies at universities and colleges, and Professional Development grants.
