It has been a fairly normal flu season…that from Medical Health Officer doctor Paul Hasselback who says we now appear to be through the peak period of infections.
As for how the influenza season went?
Hasselback says although it was not an exact match the vaccine did provide some protection, however the flu strain mutated mid-season reducing the effectiveness of those flu shots…
Meanwhile Hasselback says we are not quite out of the woods yet on the flu season.
Overall Hasselback says it was a fairly mild flu season in the Comox Valley.
