(supplied by BC Transit)Free Ride isn’t just a classic summer song from the Edgar Winter Group.It’s a thing in the Comox Valley over the holiday long weekend.Free fares on all transit routes are being offered from Saturday to B.C. Day Monday.Regular routes and schedules will apply on Saturday and Sunday, with special service available on the holiday Monday. The free long-weekend fare is supported by Comox Business in Action, and will apply to all routes in the Comox Valley Transit System.Special B.C. Day and Festival Weekend service will include one-hour service on routes:1 Comox Mall / Anfield Centre via N.I.C.2 Cumberland / Anfield Centre6 Uplands8 Downtown / Anfield CentreRoute 1 Comox Mall / Anfield Centre via N.I.C. on B.C. Day will operate every 30 minutes between Comox and downtown Courtenay, with trips every 60 minutes between downtown and Anfield Centre.BC Day and Festival Weekend will also include limited service on routes:7 Arden11 Airport via Powell R.
