One in hospital following early morning fire

Multiple reports say one person is in hospital after a fire broke out in Cumberland this morning.

The call came in around 5:40am according to multiple sources.

Cumberland Fire was dispatched to Camp Road where one home was already fully engulfed.

Once on scene crews noticed the fire quickly spreading to a neighbouring house.

The heat from the fire also melted parts of nearby cars.

One person from the first home was airlifted to a hospital in Victoria with serious burns.

There is no word on what started the blaze.
