A Comox Valley man is recovering after his side by side rolled over last Thursday.

Trevor Weir says he was out fishing with some friends when his UTV flipped.

“I was out fishing just a normal night and we came off gravel onto the pavement and the thing flipped over and caught my hand perfectly under the roll bar and that was that,” said Weir.

A close friend of Weir’s, Bryan Ladouceur started a GoFundMe page to help the family out.

Weir says he is recovering but is at the mercy of doctors for the time being.

“I don’t really know what’s going to happen, they seem to think I’ll have decent mobility in what I have left. It’s just playing it by ear, and I’ll just do what the doctors tell me kind of thing.

He adds that any words of support or donations are much appreciated but the end goal is that he gets better.

“I just appreciate any kind of love or help, if anyone wants to give. I’m alright, trying to hang in there.”

Weir was the old manager of the local OneThirtyThree Skate Shop before taking up carpentry last October.
