Cumberland recruiting Heritage Committee members

The Village of Cumberland is on the lookout for history buffs.

It’s currently recruiting new members to its Heritage Select Committee.

The committee advises council on heritage conservation, researches history, and develops statements of significance for heritage buildings and places.

It also reviews and makes recommendations to council on development permit applications and heritage alteration permits in the downtown area.

The village says the committee helps increase the understanding and appreciation of Cumberland’s history, heritage buildings and places.

Another goal is to ensure that building renovations and new buildings along Dunsmuir Avenue support the village’s heritage character.

To apply, download an application form from the village website and submit it with your resume in person or by email to [email protected] by Tuesday, September 17th.

Applicants may be asked to meet briefly with council members on Monday, Sept. 30.
