Dogs can go for swim at Pooch-A-Poolooza

Your canine friends can make a big splash tomorrow.

It’s the annual Pooch-A-Poolooza at the Courtenay and District Memorial Outdoor Pool at Lewis Park.

It gives the dogs a chance to go swimming before the pool is closed up for the season. Both the wading pool and the big pool will be open so dogs of all sizes can take part.

Van Isle Veterinary Clinic staff will be there to help make sure the dogs stay safe and Woofy’s Pet Foods will be doing giveaways. The city says that because this is supposed to be a fun, family event your dog must be friendly to attend. You also have to show your dog’s up-to-date vaccination papers to get in.

No humans will be allowed in the pool. Pooch-A-Poolooza runs from 11:00am to 1:00pm. Admission is by donation and all proceeds will be donated to Vancouver Island Compassion Dogs.
