Get ready to walk, run, or roll for cancer research on Sunday.
The annual Terry Fox Run is taking place across Canada, including in the Comox Valley and Campbell River.
The valley run starts at Simms Park.
Registration for is at 10:00am with the run starting at 11:00am.
Route distances one, two, five, and 10 km.
The Campbell River event is a five kilometre jaunt along the Seawalk. Registration is at 9:00am and the run gets underway at 10:00am.
They’re suitable for bicycles, wheelchairs/strollers and rollerblades. Dogs on leash are welcome.
Valley coordinator Regan Jamieson says the run has had quite a few successful years.
She added that it’s a great way to get outdoors for some exercise while supporting a worthy cause.
“Outside of the cause and the meaning behind it, it’s a great walk for doing the (Courtenay) Airpark so everybody can take part. You can bike it, run it… it’s a fairly straightforward route, and hopefully we’ll have some nice weather to get outside and do (it).”
While the run does not have an entry fee or minimum donation, you’re asked to fundraise or make a donation.

The first Terry Fox Run was held on Sept. 13, 1981. It was held at more than 760 sites across Canada and raised $3.5 million.
