Infantry training this weekend in Comox

You could be hearing simulated gunfire in Comox this weekend.

That’s because from Friday to Sunday, the Canadian Scottish Regiment will be doing infantry training in the Seal Bay training area.

The regiment, also known as Princess Mary’s, is a Vancouver Island-based Primary Reserve Army unit. 

 If you’re nearby, you can expect to hear occasional noise from the firing of blank ammunition and the use of small, fire-safe pyrotechnics. 

There will also be a minor increase in traffic entering and exiting the training area.

 As members of the Army Reserve in B.C., soldiers of the regiment train during evenings and weekends while serving as a part time component of the Canadian Armed Forces.
