Slash burn prompts Courtenay Fire Dept response

No doubt more than a few downtown Courtenay residents spotted a giant plume of smoke late this afternoon, Courtenay Fire Crews responded to a rural area on Condensory Road near Piercy, and found a large and legal slash burn.

Slash burns are on the go throughout the valley, with burning season kicking in in rural areas.
