Fire Prevention Week could mean free pizza for you

Fire prevention week starts next Monday and Courtney Fire Department wants to make sure you’re prepared.

Courtenay residents in single-family homes, duplexes and townhouses that call Domino’s Pizza between 5:00pm and 9:00pm on Saturday, October 12th may find their pizza is delivered with the help of Courtenay’s firefighters.

Fire crews will deliver your pizza and inspect your smoke alarms to make sure they are working.

If they pass the test you could get your pizza for free.

If the smoke alarm requires new batteries, the firefighters will provide and replace them.

The theme this year is “Not Every Hero Wears a Cape, Plan and Practice Your Escape.”

It focuses on educating you, your family, and the community about the importance of planning and practicing your escape from your house.

This is the fourth year the Courtenay Fire Department has partnered with Domino’s Pizza to reward customers with the potential for a free pizza during Fire Prevention Week.
