A motorcyclist was injured in a suspected hit-and-run incident in Courtenay this afternoon.
Courtenay fire department captain Jonathan Welsh said the crash happened at the 1800 block of Fitzgerald Avenue.
Welsh said that not long after, crews were paged to a second crash at 17th Street and Cliffe Avenue, involving “the vehicle that was involved in the (first) accident.”
Welsh said the second vehicle was leaking fluids heavily.

“There was a driver in custody with the RCMP,” he added.
Welsh said a “small utility vehicle” was involved in the crash that happened on Fitzgerald.
