New Plaza honouring local man opening this month

The concession area at Lewis Park will be unveiling its new upgrade this month.

A new Plaza was built to honour Chris Godfrey, who was killed at a slow pitch game in 2017.

Construction was expected to wrap up in September but because of the weather, it got pushed back to this month.

The structure will feature the phrase “Never Forget #9” and was partially funded by the former Comox Valley Fields of Dreams Society.

The opening ceremony will take place at the new plaza in Lewis Park on October 25th starting at 10:30am and will wrap up around 11:00am.

Coffee and donuts will be provided.
