New parking lot opens at Seal Bay Park

There’s a new parking facility at the Seal Bay Nature Park.

The Comox Valley Regional District celebrated its opening on Hardy Road earlier this week.

It includes 62 visitor parking spots including two universal parking stalls, three formal horse trailer parking stalls, a day-use area with an outhouse and picnic tables, and a new 110-meter multi-use trail to connect to the multi-use horse-bike loop.

“As a regular user of Seal Bay Nature Park, I am thrilled to see this project completed and fully funded by proud supporters and our local Community Works Funds,” said Electoral Area B Director, Arzeena Hamir.

“By working together we have made this much-needed facility a reality for our community to enjoy.”

The new parking facility was supported by BC Hydro, Project Watershed, the Backcountry Horseman, and the Comox Valley Roadrunners.

It completes one of the prioritized action items set out within the recently completed Seal Bay Nature Park and Forest Management Plan.
