Drainage improvement project underway for Courtenay

The city says its starting work on a drainage improvement project this week.

The upgrades will be on city-owned property off of 26th Street between Cliffe and Fitzgerald Avenues.

Work will begin tomorrow, continuing on weekdays from 7:00am to 4:30pm until the end of November.

The city says the project will include the installation of new catch basins and a shallow ditch behind 2401 Cliffe Avenue (Glacier View Plaza).

The project will begin at 26th Street and progress north along with this undeveloped City property.

Drivers will see minor traffic delays in the area while the work zone is near 26th Street.
