It’s a celebration of all things Jason Momoa.

Apple TV Plus is set to launch.

To mark the occasion, the Tidemark Theatre is hosting the premiere screening of the series See tomorrow night.

While the event is free, cash donations to the Campbell River Food Bank Society are gratefully accepted.

The doors open at 6:00pm.

Episodes 1 and 2, starring Momoa, is at 7:00pm.

See has a strong connection to Campbell River.

Campbell River was a key series location, and Momoa was spotted around the city during filming last year.

According to a release from the Vancouver Island North Film Commission, See is a world-building drama set in the future. North Island College film trainee graduates were part of the crew, and some locals will also feature as background extras for the series.

Destination Campbell River is joining forces with the Vancouver Island North Film Commission to put on the fundraiser.

Kirsten Soder, who is Destination Campbell River’s executive director, said supporting the local food bank was an easy choice.

“It’s getting to be that time of the year that we’re looking to fill hampers and things, so it just seemed like a logical partnership to support another local community organization that helps a lot of people in the community.”

Soder said Momoa speaking so highly about Campbell River and Vancouver Island, in general, is priceless.

“We’re definitely running with that a little bit. This is the kind of promotion that you don’t necessarily get through traditional destination promotion activities. This is why film tourism is on our radar as a strategy because we’ve got all these amazing natural landscapes and also the service providers and crew, all locally trained that make this such a film-friendly area.”

She added, “When an influencer of that magnitude has something wonderful to say about the region, it definitely counts for something.”

To keep you entertained as you wait in line outside the theatre, there will be a selfie station with a cardboard cutout of the star standing in for Momoa, himself.

The concession is cash only.

You’re asked to bring cash donations because the food bank can do more with that than it can with nonperishable food items.
