RCMP investigating two stabbings within hours of each other in Campbell River 

The Campbell River RCMP is investigating two separate stabbings that happened last night.

The first report came just before 6:00pm near the Radiant Life Community Church. 

A man in his 30s was stabbed twice and was taken to Campbell River Hospital with non life-threatening injuries. 

Police found and identified a suspect who is now in custody.

The RCMP wants to speak with any witnesses who may have witnessed the stabbing and have not already spoken to police.

Anyone with information is asked to call the RCMP at 250-286-6221.

Man stabbed several times

The suspect is still at large from the second stabbing.

That attack happened just after 10:00pm behind the Campbell River Community Centre.

A man in his 20s was stabbed several times and was taken to Campbell River Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The male suspect in the case is described as being about five foot, seven inches tall with shoulder-length grey hair.

He was wearing a grey jacket and jeans.

Anone who witnessed this attack or had video surveillance operating in the area is asked to call the RCMP at 250-286-6221.

RCMP spokesperson, Const. Maury Tyre, said these stabbings are very serious incidents.

“Removing individuals from the street who would do harm to others in this community is a top priority and any assistance the public can provide in these matters is greatly appreciated,” Tyre said.
