Wind Warning in effect for Courtenay and Campbell River

Environment Canada says a wind warning is currently in effect for parts of eastern Vancouver Island including Courtenay and Campbell River.

It says a weather front approaching from the northwest will cause winds to reach up to 70 km/h in areas between the two communities until around midnight.

Winds will ease overnight and Sunday morning as the front moves inland.

Loose objects may be tossed by the wind or cause tree branches and cause injury or damage.
