$1500 won’t stretch too far, according to Comox Mayor Paul Ives, regarding council remuneration.
The town’s landed on a 0% increase for staff, which will lead to a savings of around $1500 for the 2015 calendar year.

He adds that they won’t be able to get to 0% for taxpayers, but the Town will make sure any increase goes towards ammenities enjoyed by the whole community.
He says council remuneration has a formula and by using that specific formula, there would have been an increase of 1%, but a power of motion was brought forward to put the 0% increase into place.
