Courtenay-Comox MLA welcomes funding for Mount Washington vehicle

Courtenay-Comox MLA Ronna-Rae Leonard is welcoming $30,000 to help replace a vehicle for the Mt. Washington Ski Club.

The club is one of 63 community organizations across the province receiving the money from the capital project grant. The grant funds help provide upgrades to community facilities, infrastructure, and equipment.

Leonard says the money will help the ski club “replace their vehicle so people can continue to have access to their high quality and affordable ski programs.”

In 2019-20, the Province is providing $5 million in capital project grants for organizations to buy and upgrade community facilities, infrastructure and equipment.

The capital projects program is part of the annual $140 million Community Gaming Grants program supporting about 5,000 community organizations that deliver arts and culture, sport, environment, public safety, human and social services and parent advisory councils.
