South of Courtenay, a huge residential fire has ripped through a home in Fanny Bay off the Old Island Highway, pretty much destroying the structure. Fanny Bay Fire Chief Peter Golden says the blaze broke out late Monday afternoon.
There were no injuries in the blaze and the investigation into the cause continues. Firefighters managed to stop the fire from spreading to adjacent forest lands.
