RCMP looking for two men pretending to be Town of Comox officials

The RCMP is looking for two suspicious men who were going door-to-door in Comox.

It happened around 6:30pm last night on Colby Road.

Police say they were pretending to be town officials and were warning people against having large gatherings, believed to be associated with COVID-19 concerns.

They showed one of the people there some kind of generic ID, but that person became suspicious and the two men quickly took off.

“We would like to reach out to Comox Valley residents to determine if anyone else had a visit from these suspicious males” said Cst. Monika Terragni, Comox Valley RCMP Media Relations Officer. “Specifically, if anyone has surveillance footage of these males, it would be helpful to identify them,” she added.

If you have a visit from suspicious people in your neighbourhood, don’t hesitate to call the police right away and make a report.

If you have any information about these particular men, call the Comox Valley RCMP at (250) 338-1321. If you wish to remain anonymous, you can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or online at this website.
