Suspected arson torches Courtenay home

Late Sunday night, the Comox Valley RCMP and Courtenay fire crews were called to a blaze on the 4600 block of Headquarters Road.

The home was engulfed in flames and surrounding buildings were evacuated for safety reasons.

No one was hurt in the incident, according to Comox Valley RCMP Constable Don Sinclair.

He says police are now looking for suspects.

This comes after a fire near Ryan Road in Courtenay on Friday, just by Finneron Hyundai.

Investigations continue into both of these fires.

Anyone with any information regarding these cases is asked to contact the Comox Valley RCMP at 250-338-1321 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
