More closures are on the way for the Elk Falls area.
BC Hydro says tomorrow morning, the Elk Falls suspension bridge, parking lot and trail to the bridge will be gated and closed off.
The closure will also apply to the Canyon View Trail and related facilities such as the public parking and day use area on BC Hydro’s property.
The path to the lookout will be closed, which means you won’t be able to get to the Canyon View Trail loop either.
Since the start of March, BC Hydro has been closing parks and recreation areas in response to COVID-19 including the Campbell River Hydroelectric Facilities Discovery Centre, the Strathcona Dam Campground, and the BC Parks’ Quinsam Campground.
BC Hydro says the recreational areas will reopen when the Provincial Health Officer says it’s safe to do so.
