Regional Coroner investigates ski fatality

A deadly weekend on the slopes of Blackcomb Mountain in Whistler, has claimed the life of a competitive skier from Campbell River.

Regional Coroner Barb McLintock says 18 year-old Cole Anderson of Campbell River was killed after skiing off a cliff.

Anderson normally trained up on Mount Washington but a lack of snow had him venturing to Whistler for his training regime.

We also spoke with Mount Washington Ski Club Head Coach John Trimmer.

Trimmer says the outpouring of support from North Island residents has been overwhelming.

Anderson was set to graduate this year from Timberline Secondary in Campbell River.
