Easter promenade contest on tap in Comox Valley

It’s Easter with a fun twist from Courtenay Recreation.

This year, due to the need for physical distancing, recreation staff have changed up their event to make it fun from home for the whole family.

Decorate your house with your family in an Easter theme using whatever materials you have around. You’re asked to be creative and colourful by painting windows, decorating doors, making a sculpture and more.

While doing this activity, Courtenay Recreation asks you to  maintain physical distancing from others, and use as many materials you already have on hand. If you need something for your decorating, please consider getting it delivered.

Post a photo of your decorated home on their Facebook event page starting tomorrow through Monday and your family could have a chance to win gift certificates to local merchants: 1st prize – $100, 2nd prize – $90, 3rd prize – $80, 4th prize – $70, 5th prize – $6.

Once all entries are received, 20 will be chosen to be displayed on Facebook.

The public will be invited to vote on their favorite from these 20 choices from April 15th to 16th. Winners will be announced on Friday, April 17th on the City of Courtenay Facebook page and website.

For more information, please contact the Lewis Centre at 250-338-5371 or email [email protected].
