Why hasn’t Courtenay Council dropped Maple Pool Lawsuit?

There is no doubt about it, during last fall’s municipal election campaign in Courtenay, the Maple Pool Campground issue was front and centre.

Several candidates pushed for the city to drop it’s legal action against the campground over zoning non-compliance due to flooding concerns, but that has yet to happen.

So why is that the case, we asked Mayor Larry Jangula…

Jangula says discussions continue on various cost issues…

Jangula admits, the process is slow going…

Maple Pool Campground is home to a number of low income residents, that otherwise might be living on the streets without having Maple Pool as their home.
