NewsComox Valley RCMP investigating after driver follows woman in Courtenay SHARE ON: Troy Landreville, staff Thursday, Apr. 30th, 2020 RCMP detachment (Troy Landreville, Vista Radio staff)The Comox Valley RCMP is investigating what it’s calling a “suspicious occurrence.”Police received a report of a yellow/brown coloured, older, import vehicle allegedly following a woman.It happened last Saturday, April 25th at roughly 1:50pm in the area of Piercy Avenue and 21st Street. The 58-year old woman felt that she was being obviously followed for about 20 minutes as she walked through the area.“We are sharing this information with our residents for a couple of reasons,” said Comox Valley RCMP spokesperson, Const. Monika Terragni. “First, we’d like to hear from anyone else who has experienced a similar incident with this vehicle. Additionally, we’d like to remind our residents to call and report anything suspicious. It is so important for us to gather information about what is going on in our community so that we can identify problem areas and address those areas.” The woman was able to provide investigators with the licence plate number of the vehicle and police are following up with the registered owner.Anyone with information is asked to contact the Comox Valley RCMP at 250-338-1321.
