Comox Valley summer camps kick off Monday

Summer camps in the Comox Valley are starting up next week.

The Comox Valley Regional District says camps will be re-activated on Monday and will take place at both the exhibition grounds and the sports centre track and field.

The district says moving summer camps outdoors makes sure the two-meter physical distancing requirement and other cleaning protocols are met.

“The re-activation of our Summer Camps is another small step in making our recreation services available for the health and well-being of the community again,” explains Sports Commission Chair Daniel Arbour.

“We understand the importance summer camps have on families who are needing to work and adjust to this new norm. Please take some time to review the safety measures that will apply to each camp, and we look forward to seeing your children this summer.”

Registration is now open and can be done online or by calling the Comox Valley Sports Centre at 250-334-9622.

Only 10 kids will be allowed at each camp this summer and the district is reminding you that if you registered prior to recreation services closing down in March, your spot is still confirmed.

More information can be found on the Comox Valley Regional District’s website.
