False Alarm at Cowichan Valley school

North Cowichan/ Duncan RCMP have given the all clear after a lock down earlier this afternoon at Drinkwater Elementary in North Cowichan.

Not long after students were sent home for the day because of an early dismissal there was a call reporting a shooter in the building…

RCMP isolated teachers while they did a full search of the building. There was no shooter.

The call came from outside the school, and Corporal Krista Hobday says the all clear isn’t the end of the investigation…

North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP have also been investigating a couple of bomb threats in the past few months, involving a convience store and a provincial government office.
