No injuries following house fire in Black Creek

The Oyster River Fire Department battled a house fire in Black Creek today.

Fire chief Bruce Green says crews were called to the scene on Highway 19A near Dzini Road at around 11:30am.

“It appears the fire started outside the house and then made it into the living room area,” Green says. “The firefighters did a fantastic job knocking the fire down to minimize damage, but unfortunately it looks like the fire got into the attic space.”

Green says no one was home at the time of the fire, so there are no injuries to report.

He adds that the cause of the fire is now under investigation.
