Police at scene of suspicious death in Campbell River

At 7 am this morning, members of the Campbell River RCMP attended a complaint at a hotel located in the 400 block of South Island Highway.

Upon arrival, police discovered the body of a deceased individual.

As police believe foul play may have been involved, the scene has been secured.

Members of the Campbell River RCMP Major Crime Unit and of the Forensic Identification Section are continuing their investigation.  Police do not believe this to be a random act of violence.

As police are in the preliminary stages of their investigation, no further information is available at this time.  An update will be provided when more information is available.
