Lewis Centre workout facility available for booking, re-opening Sept. 14

The workout facility at the Lewis Centre is about to reopen.

The Wellness Centre’s first day is Sept. 14 with new protocols and a safety plan in place.

It’s available by reservation only, with advance bookings required for each workout session.

You can start booking online today (Sept. 10th).

To reserve and pay for a Wellness Centre time slot, click here or call the Lewis Centre at 250-338-5371, or Florence Filberg Centre at 250-338-1000.

For Wellness Centre membership holders, your membership was put on hold back in March.

You can call the recreation staff to reinstate your membership.

Once the centre is open, entering and working out there will look a little different.

Visitors will line up outside the Lewis Centre entrance closest to the Wellness Centre and will be admitted by a staff member for their workout.

You should come wearing your workout clothes because change rooms are still closed.

The water bottle refill station will be available but the water fountain won’t, so you’re asked to bring your own water bottle.

You’ll receive a caddy with cleaning supplies to sanitize equipment before and after use.

The caddy can also be used to store small personal items such as keys and a water bottle for the duration of the workout because no other personal items are allowed inside the centre.

Equipment has been spaced farther apart to allow for maximum physical distancing.

Where this couldn’t be accomplished, the equipment has been either removed or closed.

You’re also asked to clean equipment before and after each use.

Custodians will perform a deep cleaning of the Wellness Centre each night.
