Construction crews converge on Anderton Road for Greenwood Trunk Project

Work is progressing on the Greenwood Trunk Sanitary Sewer project.

From Sept. 21st to 30th, crews from Leighton Contracting will be working along a section of Anderton Road north of the Ryan Road intersection.

Expect single-lane alternating traffic and minor traffic delays in the area, weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Flaggers will be on site to assist all commuters, including pedestrians, cyclists, transit, and emergency vehicles.

The Greenwood Trunk will increase capacity in the sewer system in East Courtenay.

Once complete, the project will divert wastewater away from the Courtenay pump station, helping accommodate future growth in the community.

Courtenay’s portion of the Greenwood Trunk will redirect sewage to the Comox Valley Sewage Commission’s new Greenwood Trunk on Anderton Road completed in 2018.

Work is expected to continue until December.

Schedules will be updated as work progresses. Click here for up-to-date project information.
