Update on Campbell River homicide

The Campbell River RCMP continue to investigate the discovery of a deceased male from last Friday, April 17th.

Police are confirming that the investigation is being treated as a homicide. An autopsy was conducted on yesterday (Wednesday, April 22nd) in Vancouver.

Police say the deceased’s family has been notified and spoken with.

Police have identified the victim as 21-year-old Masi Qayumi of Surrey, BC.

Police add that all leads are being pursued and the investigation is moving forward. Campbell River RCMP Staff Sergeant Troy Beauregard says the victim was known to police.

Anyone that may have information is asked to contact the Campbell River RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
