A major fiscal shot for the Cumberland Community Forest Society, in building up their war chest to snap up Cumberland area lands for various recreational activities, including mountain biking and hiking. We touched base with group spokesperson Meaghan Cursons.
And one huge funding hit from the Fish and Wildlife Compensation Program under BC Hydro, puts over 200-grand in the coffers of the Cumberland Community Forest Society.
Cursons says so far the Cumberland group has secured 70 hectares of land and efforts continue to acquire another 50 hectares.
